Summer Swansong

Lost Jungle Adventure Golf Sunday 20th August 2018

A trip to Stanmore in the Astra with Paul, Zoe and Dave made for a pleasant Sunday afternoon of fancy mini golf.
Before moving into September we had a non car weekend. Saturday of the Bank holiday weekend, we spent the day enjoying the music at the Twinwood Festival in sunshine and showers.

Bannold's  Friday 31st August

Dave organised a lovely surprise trip out in the Hot Rod to Bannold's Carriages Tea Rooms in Fen Drayton near Cambridge. We had High Tea - dainty sandwiches and cakes, tea and fizz served to us in a luxurious private compartment in an old restored railway carriage which is stationed at a specially recreated 1920's railway station. Afterwards we looked around the Victorian garden and landscape area before cruising back through the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire countryside.

Gaydon Motor Museum Saturday 1st September

Dave went over to Gaydon on Drive It Day and parked next to Mike Crook who is currently trying to put even more miles on the clock than we are in his Model A. Meanwhile I stayed at home doing some rare housework in anticipation of our guests.

Bedford Embankment Sunday 2nd September

Hot chicken, French bread and potato salad for lunch at the Embankment taking advantage of the weather to drive there in the Hot Rod.
